Fireman's Hall
Stockade District, Kingston, Ulster County
Fireman’s Hall is the former home of the Wiltwyck Hose Company No. 1 at the Wiltwyck Fire Station. The fire company took its name from the Wiltwyck Dutch settlement located in modern day Kingston. The building is included on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Kingston Stockade District, where it is described as “a bracketed, brick building erected in 1857 showing Italiante influence. The tower here is neo-Renaissance in style. This is a building of considerable charm for its use as well as its style.” Since 1982 the building has served as home to the Volunteer Fireman’s Hall and Museum.
