Noonday, Mitchell House, Ellenville, N. Y.

The well-known Mitchell House in Ellenville in Ulster County, New York was constructed in 1833 as the DeGroff Tavern, over time becoming the J. Crisman Hotel and then the Elting House, before eventually becoming the Mitchell House by 1900. The Mitchell House was torn down in 1956.

As per their website “The Noonday Club of Ellenville is a community service organization with a variety of ongoing and special-event activities. Founded in 1923, The Noonday Club is made up of local business people and conscientious citizens in southwestern Ulster County, sponsoring events and fundraisers throughout the year to support local charities, seniors, and students. We also meet monthly to hear from guest speakers about interesting projects and organizations working to promote and improve the business, cultural, social, and civic climate of the Ellenville/Wawarsing community.”
