Delaware River at “The Riverside”, Deposit, N.Y.
Two canoes are set upon the riverside along the Delaware River at the town of Deposit, New York in this classic Catskills scene. The vintage postcard was published by C. K. Pharmacy at Deposit, New York. The postcard was never mailed.
“The Riverside” boarding house advertised itself in the July 1909 issue of The Outing Magazine: “The Riverside, Deposit, N.Y., Morris Axtell, Proprietor. Located in the heart of trout and bass streams. The upper Delaware is reputed for big bass, while every trout fisherman knows Cold Spring Brook and Trout Creek. Fine partridge and rabbit shooting in the fall. Everything new and up to date. Rates decidedly reasonable. Write early for reservations."
