Esopus Meadows Lighthouse
The Esopus Meadows Lighthouse, affectionately known as the Maid of the Meadows, is an active lighthouse located on the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie and Kingston in New York. The lighthouse stands on the west side of the channel, in the river, and is accessible only by boat. The lighthouse was originally constructed in order to warn mariners of the tidal mud flats located off the western shore of the Hudson River.
