North Branch, Sullivan County

The closed and vacant Cider Mill is located within the small Sullivan County hamlet of North Branch. The Cider Mill was once a popular tourist attraction where visitors could watch as noisy, turn-of-the-century machines took bushels of apples and pressed out fresh, sweet and hard apple cider. Visitors could then purchase the freshly made products as well as other season specialties such as pumpkins and corn in the fall and Christmas trees in the winter. Although it was once one of the country’s oldest working cider mills, the North Branch Cider Mill has long since been left to age and is a quaint reminder of the rural industries of long ago.
