Spring Glen, Ulster County

The once popular County Line Restaurant, as its name implies, sits on the border of Ulster County and Sullivan County. Located in the small hamlet of Spring Glen along busy Route 209, the restaurant was operated for many years by Anna (Annelie) Schuetz (1936-2016), a German immigrant and former fashion designer. The fading ghost sign pays testament to an earlier era when summer boarding houses and bungalow communities dotted the southern Catskills landscape.
