Carson City & Indian Village was a popular tourist attraction in the Catskills for nearly 40 years. The Wild West themed amusement park, located on over 100 acres, contained a mock town with a schoolhouse, saloon, theater, barber shop, jail, train depot and more. Entertainment was non-stop with train and stagecoach rides, can-can dancing, robberies, jailbreaks, saloon fights and shoot-outs. Established in 1958 by noted showman Arthur Gillette, the much beloved Carson City & Indian Village closed its doors in 1997 due to declining business.
