Abandoned Ranch

Cornwallville, Greene County

The Tanglewood Ranch in the Greene County village of Cornwallville was a seasonal tourist attraction that offered pony rides, horseback riding, trail rides and horse drawn hay rides. The ranch included a small mock village that included a saddle shop, jail, gift shop, Polaroid shop and much more. At its height the ranch owned around 75 horses and offered their services to many of the popular hotels in the area. The ranch was founded and operated by Robert (Bob) and Virginia (Ginger) Handel, who were also owners of the nearby Supersonic Speedway and Blackthorne Resort.
