Phoenicia Library
The Phoenicia Library, operating since 1901, has been a longtime resident of Phoenicia’s postcard worthy Main Street. It has been a hub of community activity, offering a variety of services and playing host to numerous events such as book signings, readings, writing contests, computer training, arts and crafts, and children’s activities. Unfortunately, a March 2011 fire destroyed all its contents and rendered the 100-year-old building unusable (the photograph pre-dates the fire). The library has since operated at a temporary location across from the post office while it continues fundraising efforts to restore the original library.
