The wonderfully charming Mountain Top Arboretum includes three distinct sections including the 10-acre West Meadow, the 11-acre East Meadow and the 3.5 acre Woodland Walk. It is a great place to visit, walk, relax and soak in nature’s wonder. The Arboretum was founded in 1977 through a donation from Dr. and Mrs. E. H. Ahrens, Jr. to “engage in the applied science of horticulture; to promote stewardship of the environment; and to offer a diversity of programs for the education and enjoyment of the public.” Few places in the Catskills Park border offer so much botanical diversity in such an appealing, yet compact, setting.
