For over one hundred years, the Mohonk Testimonial Gateway has stood as one of the most iconic structures in the village of New Paltz. The Gateway, with its distinct architectural style, almost medieval in nature, and its castle-like tower shape, provides a dramatic opening scene for visitors as they approach the sweeping views across Butterville to the rising foothills of the Shawangunks, culminating with the iconic view of Sky Top atop the Shawangunk Ridge.
