Vintage postcard of the interior of the historic Old Dutch Church in the Stockade District of Kingston, New York.

Interior of First Dutch Church, Kingston, N. Y.

The historic Old Dutch Church in the Stockade District of Kingston was constructed in 1852. The congregation was originally formed in 1659, only a year after Kingston’s founding with the construction of the “stockade” to protect the small settlement. Having held services for over 350 years, the Old Dutch Church is one of the oldest continuously existing congregations in the United States. The church building, designed by renowned American architect Minard Lafever (1798-1854), is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

The postcard was published by A. C. Bosselman & Company located in New York. The postmark on the reverse side shows that it was mailed in 1910.
