The Comet Press published a limited-edition version of the Rip Van Winkle story in 1941. Only 750 copies were made available. The book was produced with Oldstyle Number Seven text with headings in Deepdene italic. The paper was T. J. Gray Laid Text and the binding was PX cloth turned inside out.
The Rip Van Winkle illustrations were created by Howard Morris, who would also illustrate other books for the Comet Press, including The Song of Hiawatha and The Gold Bug.
In addition to the cover art and title page, the book contained four full-page illustrations and one half-page illustration. Although the illustrations were not titled, they correspond nicely with the story. Using the Rip Van Winkle story line, I have taken the liberty to title each of the illustrations with a passage from the book.
