Tugboat Petersburg
Rondout District, Kingston
The 107-foot tugboat Petersburg was built in 1954 by the US Army. It served honorably during the Vietnam War moving docks and as a fireboat. Today, the tugboat is owned by Rick Batchelder who lives on the boat for half the year as he moves between Kingston, New York and Block Island, Rhode Island. Both the owner and the tugboat were featured in a 2011 NY Times article.
