Over the summer The New York Times published an article titled “The Deadly Waterfall in the Instagram Age” that described recent deaths at Kaaterskill Falls in the northern Catskills. The article stated that the last four people who died there were either taking or posing for photos; and also described the various developments to make the area safer and more accessible for visitors.
The article does a great job in describing the current dynamic at the Falls, albeit with an element of hypocrisy given the high-end drone footage used to illustrate the article. Nonetheless, it is certainly worth a read. Here is the link to the article: www.nytimes.com/2018/08/14/nyregion/kaaterskill-falls-catskills-deaths-instagram.html
