While this question isn't directly related to the Mountain House, it is geographically closely related to my search this morning! I was thrilled to have found this site while searching for Haines Falls photographer John W. Rusk.

I have a photograph of an ancestor and am struggling to date it (which would confirm whether the handwritten note is accurate).

By chance, do you know the years that Rusk would have been doing portrait photography in Haines Falls?

I will do some additional research into Rusk, as my family owned the Squirrel Inn and the Tea House, as such I have quite a few photographs/postcards, but I didn't think that my gg grandmother was still alive when her daughter opened the Inn. Possibly the photo was taken on a "scouting trip" (noted in correspondence) before they established SI... or maybe the name on the back is just wrong...???

THANK YOU for the gallery of images from Twilight Park and Haines Fall! They hold a VERY VERY VERY special place in my heart!
